Increase Image Size in KB

Increase image size online in seconds using this browser-based tool. Upload one image, choose a target size in KB, preview the result, and download the enlarged image instantly with no quality loss or server upload.

This tool lets you increase the file size of an image to a specific size in KB directly in your browser. It is useful when a website, form, or platform requires images to meet a minimum file size, and your image is currently too small.

Everything runs locally in your browser. Your image is never uploaded to a server.

Privacy: All image processing is executed entirely client-side using in-browser technologies (e.g., JavaScript). Image data never leaves your device, is not transmitted over the network, and is not written to or stored on any server. This ensures full privacy and security, as all operations occur within your local browser environment.

When to use this tool

Use this tool when:

  • A website or application rejects images that are “too small”
  • You need an image to meet a minimum KB requirement
  • You want to keep the same resolution but increase image file size
  • You need a quick, offline-safe solution without uploads

This tool is not meant for improving image quality or resolution. It only adjusts file size.

  2. Review the preview showing:

Supported image formats

Any image format supported by modern browsers can be used, including:

  • JPG / JPEG
  • PNG
  • WEBP
  • GIF
  • BMP
  • SVG (rasterized)

Output formats depend on browser support.

How image size increasing works

The tool increases image size by re-saving the image in the selected output format while keeping the same visual appearance. If the newly generated file is still smaller than the target size, additional harmless binary data is appended to the file until the exact size is reached. This padding does not affect how the image looks or opens and keeps the file fully valid and viewable. The final image is then prepared for download, with the original metadata preserved unless the chosen format naturally removes it.

No EXIF data is modified unless the chosen format removes it by default.

Important notes

  • Increasing file size does not increase visual quality
  • Resolution and dimensions stay the same
  • Padding does not affect how the image displays
  • All processing happens locally in your browser
  • Works best in modern browsers like Chrome, Edge, and Firefox
